Clean Rooms

CTS manufactures custom environmentally controlled Clean Rooms for use in Industrial Testing and Life Science Applications. Our Clean Rooms are designed to meet Class 10,000 to 100,000 design standards. We offer great flexibility in the physical size and layout of our custom clean rooms. We can provide an optional air lock that acts as a buffer zone between the clean room and the outside atmosphere. CTS’ experience in refrigeration and air conditioning technologies allow us to design and manufacture rooms that can range in temperature from +4°C to +40°C on a continuous basis. These systems can be supplied with temperature and humidity PID controls. Class 10,000 Clean Rooms are designed to provide 60 to 90 air changes per hour while Class 100,000 Clean Rooms are designed to provide 5 to 48 air changes per hour.

Room Construction

The room panels will be constructed from foamed-in place urethane insulated modular panels. These modular panels are typically 4″ thick (R34) but can also be supplied in 5″ (R42) and 6″ (R56) thickness. The appropriate panel thickness will be chosen based on the temperature range and application. The urethane to metal bond and 90° flange with flexible vinyl gaskets will provide an airtight seal as well as tremendous strength. The insulated panels will be UL fire test approved and will have a low flame spread rating of 25 or less. Panels will be tested and approved by Factory Mutual Number 4880, for Class I building type insulated wall and ceiling construction in combination.

Conditioning and Filtration Equipment

CTS condensing units are designed and manufactured to fit your needs; CTS will supply a single stage refrigeration system, in either water cooled or air cooled. All refrigeration systems will utilize proportional control valves to provide precise control. All refrigerants are non-CFC.

Stainless steel finned strip heaters are used to provide a heating capability. The heaters are time-proportioned by a solid state relay with an SCR output to precisely control temperature.

CTS utilizes 99.99% HEPA Ceiling Terminal Modules and customized air handling systems to deliver air to the room. A clean room T-grid ceiling with either gasketed or Gel seals is used to insure that all of the air passes through the HEPA filters. Stainless steel low wall returns are used to provide excellent temperature uniformity inside the room.

Controls

All control panels will be equipped with selector switches and pilot lights for easy operation. Each selector switch will be identified by engraved nameplates. The recessed control panel will be hinged for easy opening by maintenance personnel. Once the panel is swung open, all relays, contactors, and other enclosed control circuits will be readily exposed for simple maintenance. All control panels will be equipped with a lockable, clear acrylic cover. All CTS Environmental Rooms are controlled by solid state Proportional, Integral and Derivative (PID) controllers for precise temperature and relative humidity control. All T & H rooms will be equipped with high/low temperature and relative humidity alarms. Alarm systems will include indicator lights, audible alarm, and dry contacts for remote monitoring.
